Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew admits he's keen on Andy Carroll.

Carroll is on-loan at West Ham United from Liverpool.

Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "I would definitely consider it.

"We are still light of a striker, I think it is a difficult window to purchase a striker in and my gut feeling is - so our fans know - I do not think that is going to happen because I do not think he will be available in this window.

"I am not sure how serious his injury is either."
