Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren says Adam Armstrong is staying with Coventry City.

Armstrong has scored 13 goals in 21 appearances and there was speculation he may return to St James' Park.

However, McClaren told the Newcastle Chronicle: “I think it's a season long loan, but we still have a recall on that whenever we want.

“But we are leaving him at Coventry for now."
