Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren was over the moon after the club completed the signing of Henri Saivet on Monday.
The Magpies have landed the 25-year-old Senegalese midfielder on a five-and-a-half-year deal from Bordeaux for an undisclosed fee and his arrival has his new manager extremely excited.
"Henri is someone the Club have been watching for a while, and he has developed into an excellent player at Bordeaux," McClaren told the club's official website.
"This is someone with a very good mentality, who is a tough player and a winner.
"Those are key qualities you need in the Premier League and we are looking forward to seeing him pulling on the Newcastle United shirt."
Saivet arrives at St James' Park having spent almost his entire career with Bordeaux apart from a loan spell with Angers in 2011. He made close to 180 appearances for the French club during his stay at Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux.
