Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton is ready to send Kazenga LuaLua away on-loan.
Brighton are keen to snap up the young attacker.
Hughton told the Evening Chronicle: "He is a young, promising player, but we have to look after our own players.
"When we are happy with what we've got and know we can afford to let a couple of players to go out, we will let it be known.
"It's important for them to play, though. It's important now, but we also have to have an eye on the future."
