Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton is happy with their attacking options.

Andy Carroll is currently leading the line for Toon.

Hughton told the Sunday Sun: "At this moment we are in quite a healthy position with the squad and competition is vital.

"We have Shola Ameobi's performance midweek (when he scored twice at Chelsea), Nile Ranger, another young lad making great progress, Peter Lovenkrands, excellent for us last year and Leon Best, who hasn't had the opportunities.

"So there is real competition and that will be important. I would expect Andy to react to that the same way I would expect anyone to."
