Nicky Butt may hang up the boots at Newcastle United.
Butt could end his career by lifting the Championship trophy at St James's Park, in front of his old Manchester United captain Roy Keane.
Keane's Ipswich Town visit Tyneside for Newcastle's title party and Butt, as club captain, will be handed the trophy before kick-off.
But with the 35-year-old out of contract at the end of the month, manager Chris Hughton concedes Butt, who has played just 16 league games this season, could retire from the game this weekend.
Hughton said: "I don't think he's officially said that he will retire, but I know it's something that's an option."
