Newcastle boss Eddie Howe admits they need to match the ambitions of Bruno Guimaraes.

The midfielder has confirmed talks with Real Madrid.

Howe said today: "We desperately want Bruno to be happy and see a long-term vision here.

"First and foremost, we have to get the team in a good place and build positively. As long as a player can see progression we can offer something to keep everyone here.

"What I can say is that he's done unbelievably well. He has fitted in so well and epitomised the drive and team spirit. Fans have taken to him so well."
