Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has stated that Jonjo Shelvey is not set to leave.
The midfielder has not been a regular for the first team this season, with his contract running out at the end of the term.
Shelvey is being linked with a move to Besiktas in Turkey, but his manager believes the all-action midfielder is still very much valued at St. James' Park.
The midfielder is currently recovering from a calf strain.
Per Chronicle Live, Howe said today: "I've been surprised at all the speculation (about Shelvey).
"I've got no idea where that has come from. It's certainly not come from us. Jonjo is a very valued member of the squad."
