Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is delighted with Paul Dummett's new contract.
The defender penned terms yesterday.
Howe said this morning, "He's a great personality. He's Newcastle through and through. It's very important that the characters in the squad are of the highest quality and he is. He has a lot to offer on the pitch as well.
"I'm really pleased to see him stay fit for a sustained period of time - he's trained really well.
"Looking back to the Leeds game, which was pivotal for us, he played with minimal training time and I thought he was outstanding. He's played his part and I'm delighted he's staying."
