Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce admits they need to step up their style to keep the Toon Army happy.
Bruce has come out fighting over criticism of his team's form during consecutive goalless draws at St James' Park.
He said: “This team last year went five at the back under Rafa, they couldn't win a corner before that.
“We accept the criticism. I have to get the best out of my squad and yes we can be better. I want to play two up front but we re not ready and I won't just change it.
“The way we are set up, are, it's been difficult to dominate and we are not in that situation where we can dominate anyone. I hope we can go to Oxford, like when we went to Rochdale, and dominate them. But in this league it hasn't been possible. It's my job to make sure we get a few results, get an accumulation of points over a period of time.
“You need time to evolve it but maybe I won't get the time."
