Newcastle boss Bruce: I'll be back next season

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has declared he will continue in the job next season.

Bruce says he is looking forward to "clearing off somewhere" on holiday after the Fulham game following a "tough" season which has had all sorts of challenges for him.

The club's form has been pretty decent over the last month or two, which has lifted the Magpies clear of the relegation zone, and they could even beat last season's point total if they win at Craven Cottage.

But there were boos for him from fans at St James' Park after the Sheffield United win, and he said discussions about his future were still to be had.

He said: "From day one, I've said that I will never be everybody's cup of tea. Whether it was a minority or whatever [who booed] I'll let other people judge.

"I understand the frustrations of the winter, where we had an awful run. And when people keep, I'm being told, being negative about the team and all the rest of it then, I have to accept it. It's a big part and parcel of being a Premier League manager, unfortunately.

"I'm still too early to retire yet, so I will carry on as long as others want me to do that."
