Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has joked about signing Tottenham striker Harry Kane this summer.
Safe for another season, Bruce was asked this morning about how to improve the Toon squad.
He said, "It looks as if Harry Kane became available yesterday.
"That wouldn't be a bad start. No, I mean, look, we've had conversations but that's normal, but I think what's vitally important now is that we finish off the season.
"Of course discussions have gone on, and there will be, like every club up and down the country, they'll be discussions of which way forward.
"I can't really reveal that because it would be disrespectful for the people that we're trying to bring to the club, but always my thought is, how can we improve and get better.
"And that's what I'm trying to do."
