Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce was delighted hearing fans chant his name during their FA Cup replay win over Rochdale.

United fans chanted: “Brucey, Brucey give us a wave", and he quickly obliged.

This went on a few times over the night and after the game he joked: “It's only taken to Christmas, but we'll accept that!

“Listen, results will always help us on that. We've got a lot to do. We've had a tough three, four weeks with the injuries and what have you and the results and what have you

“But we'll hopefully get a few back and when we get a few back, we'll be okay."
