Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce fancies a move for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele.
The Daily Star says Bruce would 'love' to compete for Dembele before the transfer window slams shut at the end of this month.
Newcastle owner Ashley put his hand in his pocket last summer to prise Joelinton away from Hoffenheim in a £40m deal.
And Bruce will be hoping to tempt his paymaster into another swoop to help boost the club's chances of extending their stay in the Premier League.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has already launched a bid for Dembele which included an option to sign Olivier Giroud - who Newcastle have looked at luring to the north east.
