Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is eyeing Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn.

Bruce is plotting a stunning £30m transfer move for McGinn, says the Daily Record.

Bruce, who was in the Villa dugout when McGinn arrived in 2018, is a huge fan of the Scotland international and could look to bring him to Newcastle United.

McGinn has been out of action since December of last year, when he suffered a fractured ankle in the home defeat to Southampton.

He was edging closer towards a first team return, before the Premier League was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
