Newcastle boss Bruce confirms push for Bournemouth coach Jones

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has hopes of adding Bournemouth coach Graeme Jones to his backroom staff.

Newcastle are in talks to add Jones to Bruce's coaching staff.

"It's something we've been looking at for a few weeks now," he said.

"With what has gone on the last few weeks, we've had sickness to one or two coaches and been short. So that was when it came to prominence, we could do with an extra pair of hands.

"A fresh voice and fresh ideas are never a bad thing. That's what we believe."

Jones, 50, is a Newcastle supporter, and Bruce added: "He's a Newcastle fan and that's what tipped him our way. He wants to come and work for his hometown club. Let's hope we can get it over the line."
