Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce was involved in an angry exchange with a journalist after Tuesday's win over West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup.
Reports had claimed Bruce and Allan Saint-Maximin were involved in a training ground bust-up this week.
But the Geordie was having none of it when speaking after the game.
"It's total lies and nonsense," Bruce said in a post-match press conference at the Hawthorns. "I am glad your source is wrong. Are you calling me a liar?
"Your report is wrong - I had no row with Saint-Maximin - wrong."
He added: "He was a doubt - then there was nonsense there was a fallout in a newspaper. I don't know where that came from.
"He didn't train Sunday as we were wary for him, and you have to be careful after two hamstring injuries. He was sore on Thursday.
"That made my mind up to not risk him. He trained well on Monday and declared himself fit."
