Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has revealed they've already had approaches for players turned down.

Bruce was speaking after their 1-1 draw at FA Cup opponents Rochdale.

When asked about transfers, Bruce said: “Yes (we're looking for a striker).

“We've had a couple of knock backs already.

“We'll keep working away. It's very, very difficult especially at that end of the pitch.

“I won't just bring in players for the sake of it, to add to the squad.

“I don't think that would make sense."
