Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez is confident Matt Ritchie's howling miss against Burnley won't effect him.

The midfielder has been teased by his team-mates for firing wide from two yards out against Burnley on Monday night.

Benitez said: "He wants to do well and Ritchie is a worker.

"We know he is giving everything in every training session and every game. Sometimes he is doing better or worse but he is a worker.

"He will be ok. The point with him is that he wants to play every game 90 minutes.

"He is training so hard every game, every minute and he has to understand sometimes I have to make decisions."
