Rafa Benitez says Newcastle United needed to do everything right to beat Arsenal on Monday night.

The Gunners ran away 2-0 winners at the Emirates thanks to goals from Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette.

Speaking after the game, Benitez said: "You can compete, but you have to do everything right.

"We beat Manchester City doing everything right.

"In some cases, even doing everything right, the other team can make the difference.

"You play against a team in the top four in the Premier League, they (Arsenal) are doing well and they play at home with a lot of confidence.

"Now we are focused on Crystal Palace and as I say every game is like a final for us."
