Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez says Ayoze Perez is capable of playing at a higher level.
Perez scored the winner at Leicester City on Friday.
Benitez says that with a bit more consistency in his game, he wouldn't look out of place playing for Champions Manchester City.
Asked whether he is proving his critics wrong, Benitez said: “To be fair last season he scored eights goals and you can see he has the ability to a lot of time the right thing but sometimes he needs to be little more consistent. If not, maybe he'd be playing for Manchester City already!
“He's really good in a lot of things but there's things he can improve and he's working on that."
