Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez is happy to discuss ideas with owner Mike Ashley.

The owner is ready to talk with his manager about transfer targets, with time still remaining in the January transfer window.

While Benitez knows he will not have much money available, he still hopes something positive can come out of the communication.

The Magpies are fourth from bottom, only two points off the relegation zone.

"I don't have any problems, I'm open to any good ideas," Benitez to reporters about Ashley attending games again.

"It's fine [Ashley being at games] - but it will not change my gameplan, it will not change my substitutions, but it could be good if he comes. I certainly don't think it is a bad thing.

"I will not talk [about whether we're close to any new signings], I will just keep working and get the best from these players.

"My idea is... you know what my idea is, but we have to concentrate on what we have."
