Rafa Benitez believes that Salomon Rondon holds all the keys to his own future.

The West Bromwich Albion loanee has impressed at Newcastle since arriving this season.

He has netted eight goals in the season, while he wants to stay at the club for next season and beyond.

Benitez believes it is up to the player to keep putting up performances to justify any permanent fee Newcastle would have to pay to get him.

He told the Chronicle: "When you have a player doing well, especially a striker scoring goals, everybody gets very excited about the prospects for the future.

"What I told him is to just concentrate on the next games.

"Play well and score goals and it will be easier.

"If you are doing something well it is the best way to promote yourself."
