Newcastle boost as Arsenal prefer Premier League loan for Saliba over permanent sale

Arsenal are likely to loan out William Saliba for another season.

The Frenchman spent the second-half of last term on loan at Nice after failing to make an appearance for the Gunners.

Reports in France have claimed Saliba is unsettled and will seek an exit from the Emirates this summer, with Rennes and Benfica interested.

Mikel Arteta is keen to sign Brighton centre-back Ben White, making Saliba's future even more precarious.

But rather than sell Saliba permanently, the Daily Mail says Arsenal want to loan him out to a Premier League club.

Newcastle United have shown an interest in the 20-year-old and could provide the perfect experience for him before returning to Arsenal.
