Celtic striker Gary Hooper is expected to be the subject of a bid from Newcastle United in January.
SunSport suggests the Magpies, who have been searching for a proven goalscorer since Andy Carroll left last winter, will come in with a £5million offer for the former Scunthorpe United ace.
It is believed that Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has been tracking Hooper since the beginning of the season and has been impressed with what he has seen.
23-year old Hooper scored 23 goals for the Hoops last term and has four in the league and five in all competitions so far this campaign.
