Andros Townsend's mooted transfer to Newcastle United appears to be back on.
The Tottenham winger has been heavily linked with the Magpies over the past few weeks but it looked as though the north east outfit had dropped their interest after failing to agree a fee with Spurs.
However, The Guardian reports that Mauricio Pochettino has stepped in to make a deal possible which will see Townsend join the Toon in the next 48 hours.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants £14million for the 10-time England international and rejected Newcastle's opening offer of £10m but the two clubs have now agreed a fee believed to be closer to £12m, allowing Townsend to end his difficult spell at White Hart Lane which has seen him frozen out of the squad over the past few months.
