Newcastle United sporting director Dan Ashworth has continued his revamp of the club's academy.

Ashworth, who is working hard behind the scenes at the Premier League club, has hired Claire Burrows from Leicester City as Recruitment Operations Manager.

Burrows spent the past four years with the Foxes, who are likely to get relegated from the Premier League this term.

Ashworth has made around 20 new appointments in and around the club's academy since his appointment.

Burrows, posting on her social media account, said: "So excited to announce that I will be joining Newcastle United as Recruitment Operations Manager.

“Great club, great city and amazing passionate people.

"What a time to be joining - the aspiration and ambition of the club is only going up."
