Newcastle United's planned sale remains on track.
Newcastle's proposed £300m takeover remains in the hands of the Premier League after the Government said they will not get involved in the deal.
A Saudi-backed consortium is looking to buy the club from Mike Ashley, and negotiations have been rumbling on for months.
The sale would be controversial, however, with investigations continuing over the illegal satellite broadcasts of pirate operator beoutQ in Saudi Arabia.
But the Daily Mail says trade secretary Liz Truss has replied to complaints by insisting the deal is a matter for the Premier League, and that the Government will not intervene if it is approved.
Truss added that the illegal broadcasts have now ceased in Saudi Arabia, and that the takeover "is a commercial matter for those parties and the Premier League... it is not for the Government to intervene in the buying and selling of football clubs".
