New York Red Bulls chief shuts door on Schweinsteiger

New York Red Bulls have no interest in signing Manchester United outcast Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The Sun says a move to the Big Apple for a player United paid £15million for last July has been ruled out by the MLS giants.

Red Bull's head of global soccer Oliver Mintzlaff said: “Bastian Schweinsteiger is a great player with a great career.

“But there have been no conversations. He isn't and will not be a topic for us."

The former Bayern Munich midfielder and Germany captain has a contract at Old Trafford up to June 2018.
