New York Red Bulls chief Dennis Hamlett has cooled talk of a return for Thierry Henry.

Arsenal legend Henry has been mentioned as a candidate for the NYRB job, with French media speculation suggesting an agreement is close.

However, Hamlett has shut down the reports.

"The latest reports that Thierry Henry will come to the New York Red Bulls are fake," he said.

Henry spent the latter stages of his playing career in MLS with NYRB.

The Frenchman lasted three months in charge of AS Monaco earlier this season.
