New York Red Bull will host Brazilian powerhouse Cruzeiro in an exhibition match in June.

The Red Bulls will take on the 36-time Campeonato Mineiro winners at Red Bull Arena on Friday, June 18 and managing director Erik Stover was excited about the event.

"Cruzeiro is one of the elite clubs in Brazilian soccer and we are excited to host them at Red Bull Arena," said Stover. "Adding Cruzeiro to our summer schedule further emphasizes our commitment to bringing quality sides to Red Bull Arena. Our team is excited to play them in preparation for the second half of our season."

It will be the second time New York have played a Brazilian club this season, following on from their pre-season stadium grand opening against Santos in March.
