Italian legend Andrea Pirlo has revealed he was close to a move to Barcelona.

The New York City FC midfielder was wanted by Barca in 2010.

“With Milan we played a friendly against Barcelona at Camp Nou. After the game, (Pep) Guardiola called me to his office.

"He wanted to know if I would like to play at Barcelona.

"It was a nice thing to invite me to his office, but Milan did not want me to go," he told L'Equipe.
