Manchester City defender Shay Facey is set to join MLS sister club New York City FC.

Facey, 20, will move to NYCFC on-loan for the new MLS season. He's already featured for the club in preseason action.

"First and foremost, I like Shay's spirit, his mentality, he's a real competitor," coach Jason Kreis confirmed to the New York Daily News.

"I think he's very hungry to be a part of what's going on here. I think he's very hungry to move his professional career forward."
