New Real Madrid coach Ancelotti leaves Ronaldo return option alive

New Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has left everything wide open in terms of re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus.

Ronaldo is being linked with Real after Ancelotti's return to the club.

The coach was asked about the possibility during his presentation press conference on Wednesday.

“I love Cristiano very much, but I don't like to talk about players who are in other teams," replied Ancelotti.

“He has a contract with Juventus and it doesn't seem fair to talk about him. I can only discuss how much I love him as a man and how happy I am with his career.

“You know, an Italian journalist asked me if Cristiano was at the end of his career. I replied he had just scored 35 goals, so was slowing down…

“I haven't heard from Cristiano lately."

Before Ancelotti took the Real Madrid job to June 2024, the Merengues had also contacted Max Allegri and Antonio Conte.

“These are all very successful coaches. Conte won the Serie A title with Inter, Allegri won so much with Juventus. Being compared to these two friends can only make me happy, especially because it means Made in Italy remains fashionable."
