Manchester City's new strikers Carlos Tevez and Roque Santa Cruz will sit out the friendly against Barnsley on Saturday. Boss Mark Hughes has decided not to risk the pair, who are both carrying injuries.
Hughes said: "Carlos is probably a week away and Roque a bit longer than that.
"But they are progressing well and there is no undue concern about them in terms of their fitness levels."
Defender Micah Richards could get a run-out after a bout of swine flu, and Hughes added: "He is looking very strong and seems very focused."
