New England Revolution's Davies still eyeing USA return

Charlie Davies insists he has not given up hope of making a USA national team comeback.

The 28-year old New England Revolution last played for the US in 2009 but is still eager to pull on his country's shirt again after experiencing the highs of international football on 17 occasions.

Davies scored a vital goal for the US in a World Cup qualifier against arch rivals Mexico almost six years ago and is keen to re-live that feeling at least once more.

"I still want more," Davies said.

"Fortunately, I was able to play in a couple of World Cup qualifiers, and for me nothing really changes except the opponent. It's something that you really look forward to.

"Every day I'm working here trying to hopefully get back one day so I can put that jersey on one more time."
