New England defender Goncalves planning to control NYRB

New England Revolution defender Jose Goncalves believes his side can progress to the MLS Cup final by controlling the New York Red Bulls.

The Revs host the Red Bulls in the second leg of the Eastern Conference final this weekend after getting the better of their rivals 2-1 at Red Bull Arena last week.

New York are going to need goals if they want to produce a come-from-behind win but Goncalves suggests he knows the way to strangle the talented Red Bulls attack.

"We expect a team that will be attacking a lot and I believe they need to score and they need to put pressure from the start of the game," said Goncalves.

"We need to control the game. If we do that, it's going to be very tough for them. For us it's going to be exactly like our game plan.

"We know exactly that New York is going to come here and they have to push. They have to score and for us it's a matter of defending very well, staying compact like we did the last game."
