Neville taunt leads to Rice clashing with West Ham fan

Declan Rice has clashed with West Ham fans on social media after last night's defeat at Sheffield United.

The Irons midfielder gave the impression from an earlier tweet that the club would have been happy with a point away to the newly-promoted Blades.

The Sun says this was seized on by former Manchester United legend Gary Neville, who accused England midfielder Rice of illustrating "everything wrong with West Ham" by accepting a draw and lacking a "winning mentality".

Hammers fan Dave Walker then went on the warpath and posted: "Gary Neville just said Declan Rice saying he thought "we'd got a great point tonight" was everything wrong with West Ham because we don't have a winning mentality...he's 100% right."

But former Chelsea Academy star Rice hit back.

He posted to Walker: "As if we go out on the pitch trying not to get 3 points"

"I meant to say at 1-0 down a draw would of (sic) been a good point on the road.

"Not we're coming to Sheffield only to get a point."
