Former Manchester United pair Gary Neville and John O'Shea believe West Ham defender Declan Rice shouldn't be pressured over his international plans.
Rice is still weighing up whether to choose the Republic of Ireland or England.
"Has he chosen to play for England yet?" said Neville. "I don't know. You're telling me something I don't know to be honest with you. The boy has to make up his mind which country he wants to play for and then he'll obviously go from there."
There have been reports that Rice could be fast-tracked by England although any potential switch could take three months to process, while he would also be ineligible for England's U-21s in the current European Championship as he has already played for Ireland.
"Give him the time to make up his own mind and hopefully he will pick Ireland," said O'Shea after the Liam Miller tribute match yesterday.
