Ruben Neves scored deep into stoppage time as Wolves came from 2-0 down to secure an incredible win in an extraordinary West Midlands derby.

Wolves looked down and out when John McGinn added to Danny Ings' opener to give Villa a two-goal cushion midway through the second half.

But in a dramatic final 10 minutes, Wolves scored three times to seal a third straight Premier League win.

Romain Saiss reduced the deficit from inside the six-yard area, then Conor Coady bundled in an 85th minute equaliser after Max Kilman had headed against the bar.

Neves struck in the fifth minute of stoppage time when his free-kick took a deflection on its way past Emiliano Martinez to complete an astonishing comeback.

Villa boss Dean Smith will be livid with some of his side's defending in the closing stages as Wolves snatched all three points against their rivals.

Afterwards, Neves said: "It doesn't matter [if it was his goal] to be honest! The ball was in so that's all that matters. What a win, what a team spirit. I'm so proud of the boys. A really hard game for us. Villa are a great team, they were at home, it was a derby - it was almost perfect for us. We want to play better but when you can't the team spirit comes and good things can happen.

"Our fans were amazing and didn't stop supporting us so really happy for the team and happy for the fans. Every single game is important. It was a great game to watch. I think we deserved the win. There were games before where we played better and didn't win. That's football."

On Adama Traore, he added: "It is his game. He can do things that not anyone can do in football. He is a special player, we are used to it. He does a lot of this in training sessions. We know how hard it is to stop him. He did a great cross for our second goal then he won that foul that gave us our third one. A good game for him."
