Blackburn Rovers captain Ryan Nelsen would welcome new spending power at the club.
Indian businessman Ahsan Ali Syed is due to complete due diligence in the next two weeks and the signs are he will make a bid.
It will come too late for Sam Allardyce to have funds in this transfer window but could make January an interesting month at Ewood with £100million earmarked for new players.
Kiwi skipper Nelsen said: "I feel sorry for the manager because he doesn't have much to work with.
"It would be nice if he could get a couple of new faces in, just to put a bit of freshness about the place."
