Blackburn Rovers club captain Ryan Nelsen hopes Venky's' takeover means they're no longer a selling club.
Rovers now await for their new owners, the Rao family, to outline their short term and long term plans and disclose exactly what funds are available for January, but Nelsen is hopeful the club can look forward to the future on a sounder financial footing.
Nelsen told the Lancashire Telegraph: "It's horrible when you see really good guys and good players leave the club.
"It's horrible when they leave and then they come back and play you, because you know what quality they have and you want them beside you rather than against you.
"Hopefully we can start doing that to other clubs now.
"In the last few years with the financial position the club has been in, we've unfortunately had to sell our really good players.
"I think if you ask any of the players that leave, they love it here. But finances probably dictate things."
