The North American Soccer League as well as the United Soccer Leagues are hoping to bring in clubs from outside the USA.

Hamilton, Ontario's Tiger Cats have applied to join the NASL from the 2013 season on and mls-rumors.net believes their inception is a formality.

The league is also eyeing a team from each of Victoria and Quebec City to join the competition in 2013.

It is also understood that the USL want to bring in two more teams from the Caribbean to play in the USL first division.

Puerto Rico Islanders and Barracuda FC are already a part of the league and there are hopes for at least two more from the area.
