Napoli are stepping up plans to sign released Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente.
Sky Sports says Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has set his sights on securing Real Madrid's James Rodriguez or Inter's Mauro Icardi.
However, neither deal is close and both have significant hurdles to overcome before any agreement is reached.
If neither arrive in Naples, De Laurentiis is expected to turn to the Spanish striker who was released by Tottenham at the end of last season and is available on a free transfer, even after September 2nd, when the Italian window closes.
