Napoli striker Dries Mertens is attracted by the prospect of moving to London and joining Chelsea.
The Daily Mail says the player is keen to move to Chelsea but that he has several other offers current on the table. He comes off contract in June.
Arsenal were also linked with Mertens during the winter window, but passed on the chance to sign him due to his age, while Newcastle are now being linked.
It's been suggested in Italy that Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been regularly calling Mertens to discuss his plans for the future and where the Belgian fits.
Lampard wants to sign him because he knows that he can be utilised in a number of different positions in attack.
The Belgian, 32, is comfortable operating across the front three or as a false nine.
