Manchester United and Arsenal must pay Gonzalo Higuain's £72million buyout clause to prise him away from Napoli this summer according the Italian clubs president.
The 27 year old Argentine scored 18 goals in 31 Serie A starts last season and has been linked with a move away after two seasons in Naples.
But club president Aurelio De Laurentiis said newspaper speculation surrounding Higuain is 'a sea of lies' and insists the striker will honour his contract.
"The papers don't know what they're writing," he said when asked about Higuain's reported unrest during an interview with Sky Sport Italia.
"They're inventing a sea of lies.
"The contract will be respected. He'll only go if a madman offers the buy-out clause. However, Gonzalo still belongs to Napoli."
