Il Mattinno says Napoli have contacted Benitez about a return to the club.

Azzurri president Aurelio De Laurentiis is already considering alternatives, with Marco Giampaolo top of the shortlist.

Lazio's Simone Inzaghi is also of interest, while Unai Emery will be a free agent when he leaves Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.

And De Laurentiis has also personally called Benitez about the prospect of returning to Naples.
