Napoli are moving for Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe.

Tuanzebe is currently on-loan with Aston Villa, though has struggled for minutes this season.

Sky Italia's Gianluca di Marzio reports negotiations have opened between Napoli and both United and Villa.

Luciano Spalletti needs a new centre-back, having sold Kostas Manolas to Olympiacos and with Kalidou Koulibaly both nursing an injury and potentially going on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Senegal.

Spalletti likes Tuanzebe as he can also play as a fullback or even a defensive midfielder.

Napoli are hoping to make it a loan with option to buy at the end of the season.
