Napoli are actively exploring the prospect of bringing Mario Balotelli back to Italy this month.
The Nice striker has been told his contract, which expires in June, won't be renewed and he has also fallen out with coach Patrick Vieira.
Tuttosport says Napoli are in contact with Mino Raiola, Balotelli's agent, about a move - though the striker will have to reduce his wage demands.
For their part, Nice are unlikely to demand a fee for Balotelli if they can clear him off their books this month.
Meanwhile, Napoli have also approached Manchester United in the last 24 hours about a price for Matteo Darmian.
