Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne says they let themselves down in defeat to AC Milan.
Napoli lost 1-0 at home on Sunday to the Serie A leaders.
"We have to take a lot of the blame for this defeat, even if we fought to the end. It's really disappointing for the many people who were here cheering us on, that is the biggest regret," Insigne told DAZN.
“This was an opportunity that we have wasted. We can't feel sorry for ourselves now, there are lots of games still to be played, it remains tight up there and we must remain concentrated.
“There's no point saying anything, there was just sadness. It is better to wait until we can analyse what went wrong with cool heads."
“Of course we are eager, but if we do what we did tonight, then nobody is going to remember us.
“We have to build on the positives. This defeat hurts, it's difficult to put it into words, but there is still time to turn things around. We've got to do better."
